Gen Z faces fragmented digital experiences and inconsistent habit formation. Apps personalize in silos, breaking continuity and trust.
Nova explores how an OS-level framework could integrate goals across devices with transparency and control.

Lightweight onboarding introduces Nova and its benefits, then lets users set goals flexibly by tapping chips or typing while Nova adapts and keeps routines clear.
User taps a smart chip, which instantly becomes their response bubble.

Users toggle different suggestion types like apps, media, and calendar events.
Turning on a feature triggers a contextual permission prompt with clear choices.
Once enabled, users choose specific sub-options to tailor suggestions to their goals.
Metrics
How success would be measured if Nova were deployed at scale.
Setup completion rate → How many users finish goal + permission setup.
Permission opt-in/opt-out → Tracks trust and user comfort with data sharing.
Cross-device follow-through → Percentage of tasks continued across phone, tablet, and watch.
Interruption deflection → How well Nova avoids disturbing users during DND, meetings, or driving.
Fallback success → Frequency that offline/low-data routines still deliver relevant support.
Reflection
Nova reframed personalization from being an app feature to a system-level service built into the OS. It taught me how to design for scale, continuity, and trust across multiple devices.
More importantly, I learned to balance ambition with user agency — ensuring personalization feels transparent, adaptive, and always under user control.
